What does "Blessed are the Poor in Spirit" mean?

Notice Jesus doesn't say, "Blessed are the poor, but blessed are the poor IN SPIRIT." Jesus is not talking about your money, but about your spirit--those who are 'spiritually bankrupt' and totally dependent on God.
