Community Food Bank

Master's Pantry

Our Master's Pantry Food Bank has been working to alleviate food insecurity in the York Region community for 30+ years! Everyone who visits our food bank is welcomed by a team of volunteers, who strive to provide for every family’s needs for the month. With the help of donations from our community sponsors and church members, this includes fresh food, canned goods and other basic necessities that arise.

Over 40 volunteers serving over 100 families

Frequently Asked Questions

Our Master's Pantry Food Bank is open for you to use once a month. Although, we regularly host two separate pantries per month, we ask that you only come to one as we seek to meet each family's need.

It functions as a "drive-thru". Anyone looking to receive food, will drive up to the doors and pop open their trunk. One of our volunteers will then load a box of food in your trunk for you.

Master's Pantry is open to everyone. There is no pre-registration required, nor do you need to book an appointment. All you need to do is come and our volunteers will register you on the spot. Upon your first visit, please bring:

  • Proof of residency with a piece of photo ID
  • Proof of your income

Sadly, we cannot make accommodations for dietary restrictions or allergies. As all our food is provided by donations, there is no guarantee that we can meet special dietary requirements. Upon your visit, please feel free to inform us of your dietary restrictions and food allergies, and if it is possible, we will do our best based on what is currently available.

No, we do not offer delivery services. Our resources are limited, however, if you have mobility issues (i.e. in a wheelchair, or physically incapable of leaving your home), please contact us.

In November, Master’s Pantry begins a special Christmas “Hampers of Hope” campaign which concludes mid-December. These hampers contain your regular box of food, plus everything you need for a wonderful Christmas dinner and gifts for each member of the family.

Due to the large demand for our Christmas Hampers program, we require you to apply if you wish to receive one. Applications are typically open by November 1st and the hampers ready by mid-December.
