The Fullness of the Spirit

After Jesus’ ascension, the disciples were left wondering, “what’s next?” Their leader, who they hoped would have restored Israel to its glory days, had been taken up into heaven. They were told to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit who would help them. Then one day, the Spirit descended upon them, filled them, empowered them, and sent them out to serve. The Day of Pentecost had come and the disciples had experienced an empowerment like never before. The Spirit gave gifts, changed lives, inspired service, and transformed fearful disciples into bold witnesses of Jesus. That same Spirit is still at work today desiring to fill, renew, revive, and empower us to serve Jesus. Will you surrender to him and allow him to fall afresh on you today and every day?
