The Greatest Story Ever Told, Volume 2: The Day Religion Passed By

December 8, 2025

In this Advent season when heaven came close to earth, how often do we still keep our distance? The priest and the Levite both saw the wounded man but kept their distance. They hurried past, too busy or too proud to stop. They didn’t cross the road or cross their prejudices, barriers, or stigmas to help the needy. Advent invites us to trade our religious routines for a faith that moves, a joy that reaches out, and a love that acts. When true joy fills our hearts, it overflows in mercy. True repentance restores joy; the kind of joy that moves us toward the hurting and mirrors the compassion of Christ. Jesus came not to avoid the broken, but to bind up their wounds and bring good news to the poor. When His joy fills our hearts, we cannot stay still. Come discover how Advent joy awakens compassion and turns cold religion into life-giving faith.
